Our class was looking at the outlook for someday young film maker competion. It was part of our Sustainability inquiry. Sheridan, Zion and I were doing our project on cultural identity. We had a few ideas on the movie but unfortunately we didnt finish the movie.
We were going to try convince people the importance of sustaining culture but our main purpose was to tryto sustain Taiaha, Kapa Haka and Pacific Island dances.
Unfortunately we didn't finish the movie but people thought it had potnetial. We mucked around too much and didn't finish it which was disappointing.
Something that I learned from this project that did not know before was how to use iMovie.
* Information: Learning taiaha kupu (words).
* Process: how to make a movie.
The part of this project that was most challenging for me was doing the taiaha secene because Sheri and Zion couldn't keep in time.
The part of this project I found most rewarding was teaching Sheri how to do taiaha.
The thing I need to improve on the most is time management because I mucked around a lot.
The thing I found that I am really good at is teaching taiaha.
If I had to do another Outlook for Someday movie, the things I would do differently are: Find time for our movie and don't muck around when were planning. I would think who I wanted to work with so can finish.

KI O RAHI
The Legend of Rahi.
Rahi Tutakahina son of Eru was married to Te Arakurapakawai or Te Ara until she was kidnapped so Rahi went out to search for her unaware that Te Ara has been kidnapped but Rahi had an idea to make a kite that could carry a man high into the air so that the person in the air can scan the area. A couple hours went by and gave up that idea so Rahi went for a walk to think for more genius ideas but Patupaiarehe saw Rahi coming towards his village he cast a spell so that there is 2 suns in the sky so that the suns would burn Rahi but instead it scorched Rahi's greatest creation his giant kite and Rahi fell to the ground close to death but Rahi found a rock which he rested on and that rock had a special Wairua that helped sustain Rahi as he was gaining his strength.(In the game the rock is known as the Tupu and the area around the Tupu is known as the "Wairua").
As Rahi was gaining his strength the Patupaiarehe sent a Reptile to kill Rahi but then a hokia bird( giant eagle) flew in to save Rahi but people say that the Patupaiarehe made the temerture so cold that the eagle had to wrap around Rahi to keep rahi warm when the Ngarara sprinted around the tupu super fast to protect Rahi forming the Pawero Zone. he was so fast that the path that he was running on turned to sand. Rahi's father Eru heard that his son was in great danger so he formed a ice bridge to safety that is now called the Te Marama. after that Rahi looked at the heavens and asw the 7 stars of Matariki and said cast the 7 Pou as he was realising that his father Eru was trying to help his son Rahi. As Rahi was making his way towards his tribe and suddenly Te Ara caught his eye. After the gathering Rahi was inspired by his father to join the two tribes and make peace.
And that's how Ki O Rahi started

Dogeball
Lately Rm 13 has been doing a inter class dogeball tournament. My class faced three different classes in our pool. The classes we faced were Rm 11 Rm 3 and Room 8. We beat all three classes My class was happy we got into the quatar finals and going through our pool undefeated. In the quarter finals we faced Rm 12. My class was real nervous that we were going to loose Mrs Tito "Said we could do this but we need to work as a team'' Then Mrs Tito said "This will be one of your guys hardest game". I thought in my head we could win but only working as a team. It was game time we gave it our all and came out on top but it was unlucky for room 12 because they were out of the tournament and we were off to the semi finals. The mighty Pouakai was off to the semi finals. All three classes were undefeated until the semi finals. The semi finals were room 14 vs room 13 and room 15 vs room 10 unluckily my class lost to room 14 and room 15 lost to room 10 but room 14 won against room 10 for us.Out of all of the inter class tournaments so far dogeball is the best.

Usain bolt
one of my inspirations in the olympics is Usain bolt .I like Usain bolt because he's the fastest in the world for the 100m,200m.Lately in the olympics usain bolt got a gold medal for jamacia in the 100m. usain bolt got another olympic record again with a time of 9.63 seconds.ISN'T THAT AMAZING.I probably think usain bolt caZn do better than that because he's done better than that before.

My Rugby Tournament
Dad woke me up and I was nervous, hungry and tierd. I put my rugby gears on with excitment.I got ready for my rugby tournament and and I felt like making me some poridge but I was on a diet. The day before that I had to go on a diet because I was a little bit overweight for a rugby tournament. The feeling was deversating so my dad packed me a lunch for after my rugby teams weigh in.
I was waiting oustside on the front lawn for my freind jordan because his dad was taking us to the rugby tournament. We got to ngati toa domain and I was evan more nervous. We had a weigh in and the rest of my team mates had made it in.It was my turn the weigh asked what my birthday and I said "24 september 2000 then the weigh in people asked me to step on the scale I took a step oon the scale and I weighed in at 55.6 kg I was real happy then I had a feed.
It was game time and my team was going good. There was a overlap on my wing and the second five got the ball and did a skip pass out to me and I was running down the sideline and fended this guy off and scored a try. After that our second five cought the ball again then he broke through the line and I was his back up then he was getting taken to the ground and I called for the ball and he gave me a offload to me and i scored again. At the endthe score was 22-10.Overall my team came out on top for the tournament also undefeated.

matariki panel
Do you know whast Matariki is?Matariki is the moari new year and Matariki means eyes of the god and lttle eyes.Juring the past couple of weeks my class have been doing artwork on matarki and we designed pannels.
The pannel is split into three thirds my top third means growth.I designed it as a tiki. The tiki means educational growth by learning more things about moari.
on the panel the middle third means you and your family.I did sevan korus. Those sevan korus stand for my brothers, sisters, mum, and dad and me.
The bottom third of my panel stands for matariki and I designed the stars in the sky with the sky father ragninui and I designed a hill with patterns and korus at the bottomof the hill with the earth mother papatunuku.
At the start of this project I thought this will be easy but its actually quiet hard.Matariki pannels are fun to do and you could give them to your grand parents.
